American Bald Eagle eating another Bird

First we saw two eagles in the sky and took a picture of it. We did not expect what had happened next.
One of the eagles swooped down onto the waters.
It came closer to the water.
Saw it's prey and went in for the kill.
It had the bird by the neck and was ready to feed. At first we thought it was a fish but then we saw the feathers.
We were so excited that the eagle was still nearby. But we needed it to come closer.
All you can see is a white head and a black body.
A few feathers and a two crows surrounded the eagle.
The eagle however was calm and told those crows to take a hick. Or at least that is what we thought.
A hawk flew above but soon gave up in getting it's share. Same thing happened when the other eagle came back. But we didn't get the picture of that.
The owner of the property that the eagle was on. Was not pleased with it being there and scared it away with his lawn mower. We were glad that the eagle decided to take it's meal so close to where we were.
Looked up every now and then to see if anyone was going to disturb him.
EATING
Crow came to watch the Eagle and wait for it's turn again.
Looking at me! Beautiful eyes.
Went back down to eat! It didn't stop until there was no more meat to eat.
It spread it's wings and took off.
Leaving behind the head and skeleton of the dead bird.
It also dropped the dead bird's wing on the ground.

This has got to be the best moment of my life! I have never been so close to an Eagle before. It was so beautiful and it didn't care that my mother and I were watching it. It just sat there eating it's meal while I took pictures of it. Don't you wish that you were there? Anyway I do have one curious mystery. What kind of bird did the Eagle eat? I think it was a duck and my mother thinks it was a pecking bird. What do you think?
